Kadoorie University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Social Development to strengthen cooperation in the fields of national programs that intersect with the University's mission and community responsibilities. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Social Development- Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sha’er and the President of Kadoorie University- Dr.Marwan Awartani, in the presence of a number of university and ministry staff. In this context, Dr. Awartani stressed the university's keen interest in this memorandum, as it encourages the development of ideas and joint projects related to development and society. For his part, Al-Sha'er stressed the pivotal and central role of the Palestinian universities as incubators of the marginalized groups; Al-Sha'er also added that the ministry is building a network of young volunteers who are “the beacons of hope for the future and pillars of the present” pointing out that the signing of memorandums of understanding with the Palestinian universities comes within the framework of the Ministry's keenness on a real and effective partnership with all governmental, civil and private institutions in Palestine to serve all sectors of society.
