PTUK Discusses Future Cooperation Prospects with Kadoorie Charitable Foundation


The Assistant of Kadoorie’s President- Dr. Derar Eleyyan met a delegation from Kadoorie Charitable Foundation to discuss prospects of future cooperation and to appraise the situation of Kadoorie 2 building, which was established with a partial donation from the Kadoorie Foundation in the presence of the Christopher Lavender and John Leigh from the Foundation and a delegation from MA'AN Development Center. In this context, Dr. Eleyyan talked about the University's determination to preserve the name of 'Kadoorie’ during the merging process, pointing out the university's ambitions to increase the number of its students to 20,000 by 2020. Eleyyan also pointed to the University’s academic distinction manifested in the many awards the university has obtained both at the regional level and globally, adding to the University's relentless quest to get a ranking within the regional and international universities. Eleyyan also highlighted some of the problems facing the university, especially with regard to the Israeli shooting range within the university’s campus and the restrictions imposed by the occupation on student and staff mobility. In his turn, Lavender highlighted the Foundation’s charitable work at various parts of the world, expressing his aptitude to submit a positive progress report on the University’s strategic expansion to the Kadoorie family.
