PTUK and Partners Resume Celebrating Teacher Day for Central Districts


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the General Union of Palestinian Teachers, continued its recognition of distinguished teachers from central districts, including Jerusalem, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Jerusalem Suburbs, Birzeit, Jericho, and Salfit. The event was attended by Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham, Kadoorie University President Prof. Dr. Hussein Shanak, General Union Secretary Saed Erziqat, and Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Nafi Asaf, along with assistant deputies, education directors, and representatives from the ministry and partner institutions. Dr. Amjad Barham expressed renewed appreciation for the pioneering role of teachers, emphasizing that the event symbolizes profound respect and pride for educators, particularly in Gaza. He highlighted their resilience and determination amid ongoing aggression, describing their steadfastness as a beacon of hope and perseverance. Barham affirmed the ministry’s commitment to advancing education, addressing challenges, and continuing the path of development. He also thanked Kadoorie University and the General Union for their sustained efforts to support education and its educators. Prof. Hussein Shanak commended teachers for their vital role in sustaining the educational process despite challenging circumstances. He noted that the sanctity of their profession stems from their unwavering dedication to teaching and building in the face of obstacles. Shanak highlighted Kadoorie University's pride in producing qualified educators who have made significant contributions locally and internationally. He further remarked that the university's graduates have held prestigious positions in educational institutions within Palestine and abroad, reflecting the excellence of its academic programs and educational outcomes. Saed Erziqat, General Union Secretary, saluted the honored teachers, praising their noble mission and significant role in shaping future generations and resisting adversities, particularly the ongoing violations by the occupation in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza. Erziqat emphasized the importance of active partnerships between the union, the ministry, and Kadoorie University, acknowledging their collaborative efforts to support teachers across all districts.
