Kadoorie Hosts Tulkarem’s First Forum for Women Empowerment


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie hosted the first forum in Tulkarem Governorate under the title “The Palestinian Woman’s Influence in the Palestinian Community and Labor Market,” under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Prof. Marwan Awartani and Tulkarem Governor, Mr. Isam Abu Baker. The forum was organized by Qarib Team in collaboration with Alhayat 3paper, Kadoorie University, Tulkarem Directorate of Education, and Tulkarem Cultural Club. Official and renowned Palestinian figures attended the forum including the Undersecretary of the State, Dr. Amal Jadou, the PTUK’s Academic Vice President, Prof. Saed Mallak, the Constitutional Law Professor at An-Najah University, Dr. Sanaa Alsourgholi, Tulkarem Governorate’s representative, Mr. Refaat Thiab, and the Education Minister’s representative, Mr. Sa’ed Qabaha. Prof. Mallak welcomed the audience delivering a touching speech about the media martyr Shireen Abu Akleh, who passed away yesterday morning with a shot in the head intentionally by the Israeli soldiers, explaining that this sad event represents the daily real life of the ever last giving Palestinian women. He added that the university believes in the women’s role and active at different levels, for which Kadoorie University was among the first organizations employing higher academic and administrative positions for women, and praises their competence, expertise and endeavors in work, in addition to the excellence in education and creative initiatives by the PTUK’s female students. The Vice President also stressed the ongoing partnership and the cooperative bridges with the different international and local communities to contribute in upgrading the community development and activating their research and academic roles in connection to the Palestinian community’s issues. The forum included specialized scientific papers and an exhibition to a set of educational games, organized by Qareb Team, to blend new innovative educational methods to teach students through entertainment.
