Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie received a delegation from Leaders Organization to choose the entrepreneurial participated projects in the Palestinian Startup Support Program - PASS, supported and funded by the Korean International Cooperation Agency KOICA in cooperation with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology. The delegation included the General Coordinator of the Project, Deena Zabanah, Leaders’ Consultant, Rasim Siwan and MITIT Representative, Rania Jaber in presence of the University President Prof. Nour Abu Rub, the President Assistant for International Academic Cooperation, Dr. Dirar Elyyan, PTUK Centers’ Directors, the Projects’ Supervisors and the Participated students and owners of the entrepreneurial ideas. In this context, PTUK President Prof. Abu Rub stressed the importance of the participating activities in the related institutions which offers chances for the students’ ideas exposure so that they could become real business startups. He added that the University will exert due diligence to strengthen the methodology and creative thinking of the students throughout investing the concerned centers at the University to lead their own projects to success in the labor market. Dr. Elyyan pointed out that these programs may offer opportunities for entrepreneurs giving rise to supporting the national economy and achieve the university strategy towards encouraging the students to create innovative ideas that lead to real business. Zabanah explained the aim of the program to the audience which supports the youth’s entrepreneurial projects creating new job opportunities for the Palestinian youth under the present state of the increasing unemployed graduates. The Leaders Organization Consultant, Rasim Siwan stated that the program will also offer the technical and financial support to establish about thirty start-up companies from the Palestinian universities, adding that PTUK will obtain 7 shares of these companies and the investment amount value of the single project will be 20000 USD.
