PTUK Hosts Training Program in Collaboration with Palestine Exchange


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, in collaboration with the Palestine Exchange, hosted a three-day training program via Zoom, with over 100 students from the Faculty of Business and Economics participating. The program aimed to familiarize students with the securities sector, investment mechanisms, and the fundamentals of saving. Dr. Mohammed Abu Amsha, Head of the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the Faculty of Business and Economics, emphasized the importance of joint efforts with the Palestine Exchange in making the event a success. He highlighted that Kadoorie University is committed to integrating theoretical education with practical application, despite the challenging conditions faced by the Palestinian people, especially in the city of Tulkarem. This is achieved through strengthening partnerships with institutions dedicated to advancing education. Mr. Nihad Kamal, General Manager of the Palestine Exchange, welcomed the students and organizers, praising the fruitful collaboration between the exchange and the university in promoting investment awareness. Kamal underscored the importance of these events in enhancing students' understanding of the role financial markets play in driving the local economy, noting that financial markets are not only about trading but also serve as a key engine for economic growth. The event covered several key topics, including the history of the Palestine Exchange, the importance of governance and transparency in the financial market, as well as the fundamentals of trading, listing, and disclosure. The Students actively engaged with the topics, and the event concluded with recommendations to continue this type of collaboration in the future, both during their studies and in later stages of their careers.
