Kadoorie President Visits Petra University and Alumni Club in Jordan


Prof. Hussein Shanak, President of Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie, visited Petra University in Amman to discuss collaboration in technology, research, and other fields. He also met with the President and members of the Kadoorie Alumni Club and the Fadiliya School Alumni Club in Jordan. At Petra University, Prof. Shanak discussed potential cooperation with the university's Chancellor, former Jordanian Prime Minister and Kadoorie Agricultural School alumnus 1954, Prof. Adnan Badran, and Petra University President, Prof. Rami Abdel Rahim, along with the deans, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships with Petra University, particularly in media, administrative sciences, research, and technology. Prof. Badran highlighted the deep, historic relationship with Kadoorie University and the significance of implementing joint research projects and extracurricular activities based on existing cooperation agreements. During his visit, accompanied by the President of the Kadoorie Alumni Club, Eng. Abdullah Abu Ghosh, Prof. Shanak toured Petra University’s campus, exploring its programs, laboratories, and architectural facilities. In a related meeting, Prof. Shanak engaged with the Presidents and members of the Kadoorie Alumni Club and the Fadiliya School Alumni Club to discuss ways to maintain and enhance the role of the alumni association, ensuring future generations join, and leveraging alumni expertise to benefit Kadoorie University. Eng. Abu Ghosh welcomed Prof. Shanak, stressing the importance of expanding the club's membership to include alumni from the institute, college, and university. Prof. Shanak praised the alumni associations for their exemplary role in supporting Kadoorie University, recognizing their historical significance and their contributions to promoting Tulkarm and its educational institutions as centers of excellence and innovation.
