Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, represented by its president Prof. Nouraldin Abualrob, and the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation PBC, represented by the General Supervisor of the Palestine’s Official Media, Minister Ahmad Assaf signed a cooperation agreement under the auspices and presence of the Tulkarem Governor, Isam Abu Baker to enhance cooperation between the two sides and develop the active of the practical media in Palestine including research, reports, statistical information and other interlinked fields. The University President welcomed the guest commending the official media’s role in shedding lights on the State University Kadoorie and its scientific and academic achievements reaching the Palestinian and Arab audiences. He also praised the Palestinian leadership’s support basically to Kadoorie University and the continuous media coverage of the occupation’s violations against PTUK’s home campus and Al-Aroub branch in Hebron. Assaf lauded the high professionalism of the exerted efforts by the PTUK’s administration leveling up the university active locally and internationally, who were able to introduce an ancient history with an outstanding present and promising future despite severe continuous violations by the Israeli occupation. The agreement included students’ registration in official media centers to practice real life events as part of the study plan, training and building capacities to learn about issues of media culture, speech and regulatory laws and ethics, and media students’ employment in the PBC whenever possible vacancies are available. Additionally, Assaf delivered a short seminar about the official media’s role in exposing the Israeli occupation’s crimes, which was attended by the students of the Media Department and local interested people and university staff. The minister started the seminar with an introduction about the history of the Palestinian media and its role of internationalizing the Palestinian cause despite the heavy challenges it faces, affirming on the presence of the Palestinian media awareness of delivering the message to the international forums whether through equipped local and official media staff or through the public via using social media platforms. “These efforts along with other previous ones have been able to build bridges to the world and have also created international understanding about the Palestinian cause,” he added.
