Appointing Prof Hussein Shanak a President for Kadoorie University


President Mahmoud Abbas, through the Cabinet's delegation, issued a presidential decree appointing Professor Dr. Hussein Shanak as the President of Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie. Dr. Shanak, a distinguished physicist, assumes this role, marking the fourth presidency since the university's accreditation in 2007. Holding a professorship in physics, Dr. Shanak has held various academic and administrative positions during his tenure, including Academic Vice President, founder of the Graduate Studies Deanship, Dean of Graduate Studies, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Arts. He brings a wealth of experience, having served as a visiting professor, post-doctoral researcher, and project director for over six years at several German universities. Dr. Shanak, 53 years old and hailing from Ta'nak in northwestern Jenin, has received numerous research awards and chaired various local and international councils and committees. Notable contributions include organizing conferences like the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy and the International Physics Conference. He has authored over 45 research papers published in prestigious journals with impact factors, contributing significantly to academia. Expressing gratitude to President Abbas, Prime Minister Shtayyeh, Minister Abu Mweis, and Chairman Malik Melhem, Dr. Shanak aspires to lead Kadoorie University toward global recognition.
