Swiss Delegation Discuss Child Behavior and Abuse at PTUK

The Scientific Research Deanship at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie received a Swiss delegation comprised of Silvia Gracie – Social Work Master Program, Geneva, Switzerland and Dr. Alexander Frere – Conflict and Violence Management, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies as well as social workers and phycologists from the UNRWA and Al Quds Open University to promote scientific research and academic cooperation in the field of Child behavior and abuse. “It has been agreed that Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie will be a key partner in the project, that aims at preventing child maltreatment in Palestine, as it is the only State University in Palestine carrying out the strategies and policies of the Ministry of Education, looking for ultimate social resolutions,”the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Rana Samara explained. The proposed project aims at improving the children’s behavior at Tulkarem schools against violence since high rate of violence and lack of effective mental health centers in the governorate has been rising since recent years, which urges researchers to conduct surveys and accurate studies to find practical solutions based on solid scientific foundations using applicable tools that link education with social development.
