Palestinian businessman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, Engineer Malik Melhem, announced a donation of $500,000 to support the university.
The announcement was made during a meeting held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham; University President, Prof. Hussein Shanak; and the Head of the Accreditation and Quality Authority, Dr. Muammar Ishtaywi.
Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, praised this generous donation, commending Engineer Melhem’s national role in supporting higher education. He stated that engineer Melhem’s donation is an exemplary model of support for higher education institutions which reflects his dedication to empowering Kadoorie University to continue delivering exceptional technical education and contributing to the development of national competencies.
University President, Prof. Hussein Shanak, expressed profound gratitude for the support, emphasizing its significant impact. He said: “This donation will greatly contribute to developing the university’s facilities and infrastructure, enhancing its ability to meet the needs of students and the labor market, and reaffirming its status as a leading technical university.”
