PTUK Concludes Visit with Canadian Universities and Institutions


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, represented by Assistant President for International Academic Cooperation, Prof. Rana Samara, has concluded a series of meetings with several universities and academic institutions in Canada. The meetings aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration between Kadoorie University and the Canadian institutions, fostering cultural understanding and creating opportunities for student and academic exchanges, as well as joint research projects. During the visit, Prof. Samara met with key figures from Canadian universities, including the President of the University of Quebec in Montreal, the Vice President of International Cooperation at the University of Waterloo, the Vice President of International Cooperation at the University of Montreal, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Montreal. The discussions resulted in a preliminary agreement to establish cooperation agreements with Kadoorie University. Additionally, meetings were also held with other academic institutions such as the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Polytechnique Montréal, McGill University, and Concordia University. The discussions covered potential academic collaborations, including the establishment of scholarships and research grants for Kadoorie students, joint supervision of graduate students, and the development of joint degree programs and dual certification. Prof. Samara also met with the Ambassador of Palestine to Canada and the founder of the Canadian International Development Organization to discuss expanding partnerships with Canadian higher education institutions.
