In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Environment Quality Authority, Palestine Academy for Science and Technology and in cooperation with fellow Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza through video conference ,Palestine Technical University "Kadoorie" concluded the events of the first day of the" First Palestinian International Conference on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy" with the participation of many experts, academics, and internationals expatriate. President Representative: The conference is a Great Message to Humanity The representative of the President of the State of Palestine and the Chairman of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence- Adnan Samara expressed that holding the " First Palestinian International Conference on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy" holds a great message to humanity and will contribute to the university’s march towards innovation and scientific development stressing the fact that efforts must be exerted towards the development and activation of the Palestinian Committee of Atomic Energy. Globalization is Concurrent with Scientific and Technological Promotion For his part, the president of PTUK- Prof. Awartani noted that the conference would not have achieved this success had it not been for the collective efforts of the scientific and organizing committees which included experts from the relevant governmental authorities and various fellow Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Prof. Awartani also explained that holding these International conferences is the embodiment of the importance of conducting joint scientific and research conferences within the framework of partnership with international parties. Using Atomic Energy peacefully is a Legitimate Right For her part, the head of the environment authority- Adala Al- Atera reaffirmed that peaceful usage of atomic energy and nuclear technology is a legitimate right of the State of Palestine.She also stressed the need to control and minimize any radioactive contamination and environmental effects that could result from their usage. After this opening ceremony, the conference launched its activities which will continue over a two- day period and discuss topics related to atomic energy, its applications into the various fields of agriculture and health.
