PTUK Students Win Awards in Beit Liqya Square Design Competition


Students from the Departments of Design and Applied Arts and Interior Design at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK, secured first and second places in the Beit Liqya Square and Memorial Design Competition. The event, organized by the Municipality of Beit Liqya, west of Ramallah, saw participation from over 18 competitors representing various Palestinian universities. The municipality honored the winners during a ceremony held at its center, attended by the mayor, municipal council members, municipal engineers, and participating students. Student Menna Sakhr Mansour won first place, while students Randa Al-Jallad and Aya Abu Al-Rub shared second place. The judging panel and municipality officials commended the high level of creativity and distinction demonstrated by PTUK students in their designs. Dr. Ahmad Ammar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, expressed pride in the students’ achievements, emphasizing that their participation in such competitions reflects their professionalism and creativity, further enhancing the university’s academic standing. Mr. Osama Khudair, Head of the Department of Design and Applied Arts, reaffirmed his ongoing support for student involvement in such events, highlighting their significant role in developing skills and motivating students toward successful professional careers.
