Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie has recently discussed the first master degree in its academic history to be a considerable achievement since its university status in 2007. The Student “Faisal Rashaideh” from the High Studies College of Agricultural Biotechnology discussed his master thesis which was entitled “Genetic Polymorphism of Milk genes (Beta-Lactoglobulin and Kappa Casein in Palestinian’s sheep breeds” and supervised by Dr. Naser Sholi, Dr. Wael Qaisi and Dr. Ahmad Saleh. The study discusses the genetic variations of the milk proteins in the Palestinian sheep breeds taking into account the variant genetic biology of the sheep breeds. The study was conducted to evaluate the genetic variations: K-casein (K-CN) and ß-lactoglobulin (ß-LG), of the main breeds of the local and improved Palestinian Awasi sheep and its effects on the milk quality. The University considered the master thesis discussion and the promotion of its holder an excellence degree a historical academic achievement since 2007 during which the university status has been leveraged at academic, developmental and infrastructural levels particularly in the high studies programs where three master degrees have been accredited to the university including the General Management, Mathematical Modelling and the Agribusiness Management.
