The Department of Computer Engineering Systems at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie arranged qualifying competition to choose the teams who will represent the university in the International Collegiate Programming Contest ACM which will be held at Birzeit University this year.
Fourteen teams from the faculties of Engineering and Sciences were qualified to compete for the final stage where three teams were nominated to compete in ACM Competition at Birzeit University.
“The qualifying process at this time allows the department to train the teams to be ready for the international competition, which is a serious indication of the university's interest in programming technology, and that an all-level training program will be conducted so that students can enter every competition with full background about their university,”explained the Head of Computer Engineering Systems, Dr. Mohammad Khalil.
The International Collegiate Programming Contest ACM is a multitier, team-based, programming competition and involves a global network of universities hostingregionalcompetitions that advance teams to theICPC World Finals.
It is noteworthy that the competition was hosted last year at PTUK where 90 competitors from the Palestinian universities shared their programming experience.
