Under the patronage of Tulkarem Governor Issam Abu Baker, Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, celebrating the international day for disabilities, inaugurated an art expo for people with disabilities in order to shed light on their actual status of engagement in the community.
The expo included products of paintings, sculptures and traditional embroideries handcrafted by people with disabilities represented the culture and heritage of Palestinian people.
The inauguration was attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mu’tamid Al Khateeb, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Nafi’ Assaf, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Hussein Shanak, the University Assistant for Community and Public Relations, Ahmad Ammar and the chairman of the Disabilities Union, Majdi Mar’i along with several official associations and university students.
Abu Baker expressed his gratitude towards their strong willingness and crucial role in developing communities promising to help them out fulfilling their ambitions throughout governmental support presented by His Excellency President Dr. Rami Hamdallah and throughout specialized related agencies.
For his part, Ahmad Ammar stressed the university’s keenness to enhance the community development at all levels explaining that the expo falls within the university’s framework of adopting related activities considering the care of disabilities a national duty to give their rights of living; hence, providing a comfortable environment and facilities so that they could practice their university lives normally.
