Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie participated, on April 7, 2018, in the kharasan competition “concrete” - the first of its kind in Palestine - held at An-Najah University and organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers ASCEto connect the theoretical learning with practice and to enhance the students’ research abilities.
18 teams from PTUK and An-Najah universities competed on three levels: mixture, checking process, and final breakage, during which the students were provided with the “concrete” materials including cement, gravel, soil and chemical additives to present their mixtures under the competition standards policy – durability, slump and cost.
The competition was supervised by the Dean of PTUK Infrastructure Dr. Mukram Abbas, the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department Dr. Fatihi Anaya, the Dean of Engineering and IT College from An-Najah Dr. Khaled Alsahili, ASCE Supervisor Prof. Sameer Abu Aesha and Chief of Nablus Engineers Syndicate Dr. Sami Hijjawi along with managers from concrete manufacturers, civil engineers and architects.
