PTUK President Meets Academic and Administrative Staff to Discuss the Latest University Developments

The President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie Prof Marwan Awartani met, today, the academic and administrative staff to discuss the latest university developments and the efforts made to engage governance and quality in the academic and administrative process and the future of the university and its branches. He thanked the university staff and the syndicate bodies for their joint efforts leveraging the status of the university in the country. Prof Awartani also commended the role of His Excellency President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, the Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah and the Minister of Education Dr. Sabri Saidam for their decent efforts to unite the lands of Kadoorie in the coming months as well as retrieve the lands that are used by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Palestinian Energy and Natural Sources Authority. The University President explained that 7 development infrastructure projects are under way with a value of more than 10 million dollars, despite the difficulties of obtaining external funding as it is a state university and due to the reduction of the international support of almost 75 %. This puts more on the burden of the government and the Palestinian people who constantly keeps rejecting the political extortion. In the context of the university academic programs, PTUK will witness a new turn out in the Master and Bachelor degrees that will put an end to the difficult period of preventing the university from several majors continued to four previous years which decelerated the university educational progress, he added.
