PTUK Friends of Library Club Concludes Qabas Cultural Events


Under the auspices of Tulkarm Governor Issam Abu Baker,Friends of the Library Club at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, in collaboration with the Student Council Union and with the support of Zeta Food Products Company, concluded the series events of the Fifth Qabas Cultural Exhibition, which included cultural, theater, artistic and book fair corners that lasted for four days over a week course. Qabas Book Fair included six thousand books, two thousand titles and art corners of the students’ creations. In this context, the Student Club Member and Coordinator Mohammed Abu Saada explained that the exhibition hosted a number of Palestinian writers for PTUK students who are interested in writing contexts to acquaint them with writing skills of critical note-taking and text drafting and composition. The Club organized, on the second day, a symposium under the title "Jerusalem is the Capital of Palestine" with the member of the Revolutionary Council Dr. Ahmed Ghneim to discuss the latest developments regarding Jerusalem issue and the challenges faced by the Palestinian people in preserving their identity. Dr. Ahmed Ghneim talked about the policies practiced by the Israeli occupation including identity obliterating, confinement and blockade on the people of Jerusalem in particular, praising the role of the Palestinian people in adhering to their constants and means of victory and liberation. On the third day, short film documentaries produced by the director Ahmed Mokadi were displayed in Arafat theatre simulating the Palestinian lives under the Israeli occupation as well as the organization of a musical performance by Suznak Art Group of Music on the last day of Qabas events.
