The Deanship of Student Affairs at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Department and the Student Union Council, organized a student seminar titled: "The Psychological and Educational Effects of Raids and War on Palestinian University Students: Education Under Threat."
The event saw participation from a large number of students across different academic levels and was attended by Ms. Najah Alwan, Head of the Guidance and Counseling Department, along with staff members from the Deanship.
The seminar began with a welcoming speech by Ms. Najah Alwan, who provided an overview of the session's theme and objectives. This was followed by an analytical presentation by psychological counselor Mr. Dhafer Hassouna, in which he discussed the broader context of raids and closures imposed by the occupation forces and their negative impacts on the educational process.
Mr. Hassouna focused on the psychological issues faced by students, such as stress, anxiety, and loss of motivation for learning.
This event is part of a series of activities organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs aimed at fostering students' psychological and academic resilience. It seeks to create a supportive university environment that helps students adapt to ongoing challenges.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants emphasized the importance of continuous psychological support for students.
Recommendations included organizing specialized workshops on adaptation and psychological resilience, developing flexible educational alternatives like e-learning and part-time study options during emergencies, and intensifying international pressure to protect Palestinian educational institutions.
The goal is to empower students to adapt to the challenges they face and sustain their education despite the adversities.
