PTUK Hosts Ex- Political Prisoner

The Department of Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Science and Arts at Palestine Technical University- Kadoorie and within the framework of “Political Imprisonment” course hosted the ex-political prisoner Mu'ath Masamah. Mu'ath Masamah presented a new model of sacrifice and determination in the prisoners movement when he took a deal within the terms of which he agreed to be incarcerated seven additional years in addition to his original seven year sentence in order to have an equal fourteen-year sentence with his political prisoner fellow- Loay Swan who was originally sentenced to twenty one years in the Israeli jails. During the meeting, prisoner Masameh delivered a brief talk about his 14-year detention experience in the Israeli occupation prisons. In this context, the instructors of the course explained that the purpose of hosting ex-political prisoners is to keep the Palestinian cause and the major accompanying issue of political imprisonment alive.
