A team of researchers and academics from Palestine Technical University-Kadoorie participated in the 4th Biotechnology conference organized by the Arab American University on March 21, 2016. During the conference, the Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Mazen Salman, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, presented a scientific paper about the use of bacteria as biolocontrol agents against watermelon wilt diseases caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp niveum. In her turn, Dr. Rana Samara presented a scientific paper on Detached Leaf Technique Procedure on Successful Detection and Evaluation of Seasonal Susceptibility of Peach Trees to Plum pox virus Infection by the Green Peach Aphid (Myzuspersicae (Sulzer). One of the most interesting papers submitted to the conference was presented by Dr.Nuwaf Abu Khalaf showing a new mechanism for detecting adulteration of olive oil using Near Infrared Spectroscopy. In addition to that, Ms Hiba Qasrawi (an MSc student at PTUK in collaboration with Dr. Nasser Sholi/PTUK and Dr. Rola Jadallah/AAUJ) presented a paper on testing some bacterial infections associated with pateints admitted to Al Razi hospital in Jenin.
