Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie hosted the second Abacus competition for mental arithmetic activities with the participation of 110 Palestinian students organized by the UCMAS under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Dr.Sabri Saydam, and in the presence of the President of Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie , Prof. Marwan Awartani , and the program partners to determine the students who will qualify to participate in the international competition in the United Arab Emirates this year, which will include five thousand children from all over the world.
In this occasion, the Minister of Education, Dr. Saydam expressed his delight in holding this contest which enables the organizers to bring together Palestinian children from different classes and categories all in one place.
Dr.Saydam also stressed that this segment of Palestinian society should be of interest to everyone, and that the Ministry of Education will cover all costs related to winning students travelling expenses to participate in the competition that will include students from all over the world.
For his part, Dr. Awrtani welcomed the guests expressing his happiness in hosting this great number of creative children in the campus of Kadoorie University, the state’s university and the incubator of creativity, innovation and excellence.
At the end of the contest the winners were announced and those included: Sadeen Seri ranking first, Oday Shaheen ranking second, Oday Zoubi ranking third, and Issa Moussa Hamdan ranking fourth.
It is worth mentioning in this context that the competition events included theatrical performances presented by students from the Directorate of Education in Tulkarem in honor of the winning students.
