PTUK Maintains Strong Standing in the 2025 Arab University Rankings

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK has continued to strengthen its position on the Arab higher education map by advancing within the 2025 Arab University Rankings, achieving 35th place across the Arab world and third nationally in Palestine. This achievement underscores the university’s stable academic presence and its ability to compete at the Arab level despite significant challenges. The ranking evaluated 285 universities from 20 Arab countries under the supervision of the League of Arab States, the Association of Arab Universities, and ALECSO. PTUK’s performance reflects the strength of its integrated institutional system, particularly across academic and institutional indicators, including quality of education, research output, innovation and entrepreneurship, and community service. In this context, Prof. Hussein Shanak, President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, stated that the university continues to assert its presence within the sphere of Arab academic excellence with confidence in its capacity for sustainable development. He noted that PTUK is guided by a comprehensive institutional vision that begins with the finest details of university operations and extends to sound governance and policy frameworks, thereby enhancing the quality and impact of education. Prof. Shanak added that the university’s relatively recent establishment has not hindered its progress; rather, it has served as a catalyst for adopting clear standards and precise data-driven approaches that have enabled PTUK to establish a strong presence locally, regionally, and internationally—whether among universities and research centers or through the quality of its graduates and the advanced education it provides. He further emphasized that the university continues to invest in developing its academic environment, strengthening scientific research, and preparing graduates capable of serving their communities and humanity at large, in line with the university’s mission and developmental vision. For his part, Prof. Saed Mallak, Assistant President for Rankings Affairs, noted that PTUK’s experience in the 2025 rankings was deeper and more comprehensive than in previous years, due to the expanded scope of indicators and the increasing complexity of evaluation criteria. He stressed that achieving this advanced position was not the result of individual effort, but rather the outcome of coordinated teamwork by the Rankings Committee and the university staff, along with the effective use of accumulated professional expertise in addressing ranking standards. Prof. Mallak explained that this collective effort has had a tangible impact on improving the university environment, enhancing the quality of education, and refining academic and administrative decision-making processes across the institution.
