The Center for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, affiliated with the Deanship of Student Affairs at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK, organized an awareness-raising theatre performance in cooperation with the Tulkarm Directorate of Social Development and the Independent Commission for Human Rights. The performance, titled Ziyad Above Al-Nawras Mountain, was presented by the Popular Theatre Foundation as part of activities marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The theatrical production addressed issues of empowerment and the rights of persons with disabilities, highlighting the importance of social and educational inclusion and the role of institutions in supporting their abilities and promoting their effective participation in various aspects of life. The event was attended by a wide range of representatives from institutions working with persons with disabilities in Tulkarm Governorate, reflecting a spirit of integration between official and civil society organizations and their shared commitment to raising awareness of disability rights. In his remarks, Mr. Dhafer Hassouneh affirmed the Center’s commitment to continuous efforts to integrate students with disabilities into the educational environment and to provide the necessary support to ensure equal opportunities and full participation in university life. He further noted that organizing such activities contributes to enhancing community awareness and reflects the university’s humanitarian mission and its role in promoting the principles of justice and equality both on and beyond the university campus.
