As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its international academic and research partnerships, Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with INTI International University in Malaysia.
The agreement, signed virtually, aims at strengthening cooperation in scientific research, academic exchange, training, innovation, and the organization of joint academic activities.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mutamad Khatib, PTUK Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Rana Samara, Assistant to the President for International and Academic Cooperation; and Dr. Ahmad Shweikeh, Assistant to the President for Planning and Development.
Representing INTI International University were Prof. Goh Khang Wen, Vice President for Global Engagement; Prof. Chew Woei Onn, Director of the International Relations and Collaboration Centre IRCC; and Ms. Norul Amira, Regional Head of IRCC.
The MoU outlines five main areas of cooperation:
1. Student and faculty exchange programs.
2. Development of joint academic programs.
3. Collaborative research and co-authored publications.
4. Exchange of academic materials and information.
5. Organization of joint conferences, workshops, and scientific training programs.
The partnership is set for a five-year term, renewable upon mutual agreement between the two institutions.
In his remarks, Dr. Mutamad AKhatib emphasized that the signing of the MoU marks an important step in strengthening PTUK’s international academic presence.
“At PTUK, we believe that openness to global experiences in higher education and research is essential for improving the quality of our academic programs and expanding opportunities for our students and faculty to engage in meaningful scholarly and innovative exchanges,” he said.
For her part, Prof. Rana Samara, Assistant to the President for International and Academic Cooperation, stated that the partnership reflects the university’s vision to enhance its standing on the global higher education map.
“Collaboration with INTI International University opens up broad avenues for sharing academic expertise and experiences, building educational and cultural bridges between Palestine and Malaysia, and enriching the learning experience of our students to strengthen their competitiveness and creativity,” Prof. Samara noted.
“This MoU is part of PTUK’s broader strategy to establish itself as a leading national and international academic institution through partnerships with globally recognized universities,” she added.
