Expanded Workshop at PTUK in Support for People with Disabilities


The Center for the Care of People with Disabilities – Education for All, under the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized an expanded workshop in cooperation with the Makers Association as part of the assistive devices support project funded by ANERA. The workshop brought together PTUK students with physical, hearing, and visual disabilities, aiming to introduce available services, assess needs, and provide appropriate support. Nesreen Shaheen, Director of the Association, delivered a presentation outlining the organization’s mission, goals, and the services it provides for persons with disabilities, in addition to mechanisms for supplying assistive tools based on the beneficiaries’ needs. Mr. Dhafer Hassouneh expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Makers Association in supporting students with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in empowering students and enhancing their inclusion within the university environment. During the workshop, several assistive devices were distributed, while additional tools are currently being prepared based on the needs assessment conducted during the session and will be delivered once ready.
