PTUK Participates in 9th Meeting of FLAVEaT Food Legislation Programme


The Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK participated in the ninth cross-border meeting of the Food Legislation in Vocational Education and Training FLAVEaT project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The meeting was held in Athens, Greece, from 17–18 December 2025, and focused on monitoring project implementation and evaluating several high-level vocational courses related to food studies. PTUK was represented at the meeting by Prof. Nawaf Abu Khalaf, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, and Dr. Wafa Masoud, Project Coordinator, alongside project managers and coordinators from partner universities and institutions in Jordan, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal. Discussions centered on project management, exploring new opportunities for academic and research cooperation, and examining mechanisms for future practical collaboration. Participants also addressed the continued development of MOOCs Massive Open Online Courses targeting specialists in agricultural and food sciences, with emphasis on pilot implementation in the participating countries, particularly Palestine and Jordan. During the visit, the delegation toured the Agricultural University of Athens, where prospects for joint cooperation were discussed. Prof. Abu Khalaf noted that the administrations of both universities are in the process of signing a cooperation agreement covering academic, student, and research exchange. This participation and visit come within the vision and directives of the university administration, represented by Prof. Hussein Shenak, President of PTUK, aimed at strengthening sustainable international cooperation in academic and research fields with Arab partners and international institutions.
