PTUK Participates in the “Engineering for Palestine” Conference


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK participated in the “Engineering for Palestine” Conference, held at Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron on September 29–30, 2025. The university’s participation included presenting research papers and showcasing academic expertise that contributed to advancing scientific research and reinforcing PTUK’s presence in national academic forums. In this context, Dr. Jaafar Al-Jallad, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering – Industrial Automation, presented a paper titled “Implementation of a Modified PSO for MPP Tracking in Partially Shaded PV Systems using PIC18F4550 in Proteus Software.” Dr. Amjad Al-Khalili, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented a paper titled “Examining the Nexus: Soft Knowledge Management, Continuous Improvement, and Green Innovation through SEM Approach.” Additionally, Dr. Mohammad Amer, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Eng. Jihad Yaghmour presented a research paper by Eng. Yaghmour titled “Design and Implementation of a Fire Fighting System for a High-Rise Residential Building: A Case Study of SAMA Tower,” reflecting the university’s focus on applying engineering knowledge to real-world problems that serve the Palestinian community. Several PTUK faculty members from the College of Engineering also contributed scientific posters showcasing the main findings of their research presented at the conference. Among them were Dr. Wael Salah, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering – Industrial Automation, alongside other researchers; Dr. Fathi Inayah, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in collaboration with a group of engineering and technology students; and Dr. Jameel Hamadneh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Building Engineering, who also participated with a team of students. During the conference, Dr. Al-Jallad chaired a scientific session on “Renewable Energy” that addressed the latest research on solar and wind energy and sustainable solutions, while Dr. Al-Khalili moderated a session on “Industry,” which focused on industrial development, advanced manufacturing technologies, and the relationship between academia and industry, emphasizing existing gaps in strategic partnerships. The conference emphasized the role of engineering and technology in addressing the challenges facing Palestine, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between engineering faculties, researchers, and specialists at the local and international levels to support national development and economic growth.
