PTUK Advances to 101st Place in QS Arab Region University Ranking 2026


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK has achieved significant progress in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026, rising to 101st place among 296 universities across the Arab world. This marks a notable leap from its 122nd position in the 2025 rankings, reflecting the University’s continued advancement in academic, research, and institutional performance. The QS Arab Region University Rankings is one of the most prestigious regional ranking systems, assessing universities based on rigorous criteria tailored to the Arab context. These include academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, international research collaboration, proportion of faculty holding PhDs, research citations, web impact, and ratios of international students and academic staff. PTUK President Prof. Hussein Shanak emphasized that this achievement is the result of collective dedication and a systematic, evidence-based approach adopted by the University over recent years to elevate its academic and research performance. He stated: “This progress reflects Kadoorie’s growing presence and reputation as a national and regional leader in higher education. The University is moving confidently toward global competitiveness through strengthening its research environment, developing innovative academic programs, and building effective partnerships with regional and international institutions.” Prof. Shanak added that PTUK remains committed to excellence, quality, and community impact, pursuing sustainable international competitiveness aligned with its vision to serve Palestine and humanity through education, innovation, and knowledge creation. Meanwhile, Prof. Sa’ed Malak, Assistant to the President for Academic Rankings, explained that the improvement came as a result of systematic monitoring, continuous evaluation, and collaborative teamwork across the University’s units, faculties, and administrative departments. He praised their collective commitment to adopting best practices that have strengthened PTUK’s standing in both regional and international rankings.
