PTUK Participates in the ACPC Regional Collegiate Programming Contest


Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK participated in the ACPC Regional Collegiate Programming Contest, which was held in Luxor, Egypt, from 12 to 16 December, bringing together university programming teams from across the Arab and African regions. The PTUK team achieved a notable result and delivered a strong competitive performance, successfully solving six programming problems in one of the region’s most challenging collegiate contests. The team secured 34th place out of more than 150 participating teams, representing outstanding programming students from 28 Arab and African countries. The ACPC is considered one of the largest and most prestigious regional competitions in competitive programming and serves as the regional qualifying stage for the International Collegiate Programming Contest ICPC. The PTUK team qualified for this competition after securing second place in the National Collegiate Programming Contest, which was held last month at Birzeit University. Team supervisor Dr. Mohammad Khalil stated that the contest witnessed broad participation from leading universities. He noted that meetings held alongside the competition with experts and Arab software companies are expected to open new opportunities for training, employment, and future partnerships for outstanding PTUK students. Dr. Khalil emphasized that this achievement reflects the remarkable progress made by PTUK students in the field of competitive programming and their ability to compete effectively at major regional events. At the conclusion of the participation, the university extended its appreciation to FootHill Company and the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence for their significant role in supporting students and enabling their participation in local and international programming competitions.
