Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK hosted the Open Banking Day event on its Tulkarm campus, organized by the Palestine Monetary Authority PMA with the participation of several Palestinian banks and electronic payment service companies. The event is part of the PMA’s nationwide awareness campaign across universities to promote financial inclusion among youth.
The event featured a series of educational and interactive activities designed to introduce students from PTUK’s main campus in Tulkarm and its branches in Ramallah and Al-‘Aroub to the wide range of banking services available. Students were also encouraged to open bank accounts and e-wallets, learn about digital financial services, and explore the E-SADAD platform in cooperation with the Palestinian Payment Services Company.
In his remarks, Dr. Bahaa Rzeiziyah, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, noted that hosting the event aligns with the university’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with private-sector institutions, particularly in the banking and financial sectors, in order to bridge academic learning with real-world practice.
He added that the event provides valuable opportunities for students—especially those in related fields—to gain practical knowledge and deepen their understanding of financial and banking products, thus enhancing their career readiness after graduation.
Dr. Rzeiziyah also emphasized that such initiatives contribute to raising financial literacy among students and offer financial institutions an opportunity to directly engage with youth, helping foster a culture of safe and responsible financial behavior within Palestinian society.
